Computer gained 11.69% on takeover rumors. Reuters
also reported over the weekend that, Satyam is negotiating
with AOL Time Warner to sell it its 52% stake in
Indian ISP, Satyam Infoway. Satyam Infoway also
gained.

Micron
Tech gained 6.76% on news that South Korea's Hynix
Semiconductor will start strategic alliance talks
with it, which analysts hope will reduce excess
chip capacity in the marketplace.

Ariba
gained 15.17% after General Dynamics selected its
Enterprise Sourcing technology for its outsourcing
needs.

Amazon.Com
gained 13.73% after paying $6.1 million for assets
of bankrupt computer products and software company,
EggHead.Com.

Manugistics
Group gained 26.55% after announcing that Logitech
will implement its global forecasting and planning
solutions. Manugistics also received an upgrade
today.

Sprint
FON Group lost 2.67% after warnings about its fiscal
Q4 revenue and earnings, but expects business to
pick up sharply next year.

Inrange
Technologies gained 37.90% after raising its fiscal
Q4 earnings and revenue outlook.

AFTER
CLOSE: Autozone reported fiscal Q1 earnings that
beat First Call estimates by a large margin, while
revenue rose 10.6% over the year and also beat First
Call estimates to $1.18 billion.

firm Cephalon lost 3.73% after announcing that it
is paying $450 million in cash for French drugmaker,
Lafon, so as to to have exclusive rights to its
fatigue drug, Provigil.

Major
Wall Street firms like Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase
& Co. closed lower due to their exposure to highly
indebted energy trader, Enron, which filed for Chapter
11 protection on Sunday. Dynegy lost 10.48% after
Enron made known that it will sue Dynegy for $9
billion for breaking up their merger plans at the
last minute.

Oil
shares and prices gained due to increased tension
in the Middle East, and the likelihood that the
Russian Federation will cut production by a larger
amount as was requested by OPEC.

turning around, and it likes their recent restructuring.
Soundview downgraded AOL Time Warner to a "buy"

gained 12.81% after announcing that it will pay
$55.5 million to acquire Polaroid's ID systems business.

IBM
lost 1.26% despite announcing that it has signed
a 10 year, $1.4 billion technology services contract
with Cendant. Cendant closed lower.

Technology gained 5.15% after Merrill Lynch upgraded
it to a "buy" recommendation.

its MBA Mortgage Applications Survey for week ending

Index rose 28.3% to 324, while the Refinance Index
declined to 4998.3. The Average 30-year Mortgage
Rate rate rose from 6.84% seen last week to 6.89%.

The
Commerce Department reported that, US E-Commerce
sales in Q3 2001 rose to $7.5 billion, while total
retail sales declined 2.6% for the period.

The
American Petroleum Institute (API) and the Energy
Information Administration (EIA) reported that for
week ending November 23rd., US crude oil inventories
declined about 1 million and 3.1 million barrels
respectively, while Distillates rose 5 million and
5.1 million barrels respectively.
-
The
Federal Reserve Districts "Beige Book" report was
released today and showed a dismal economic performance

Electronics Manufacturer (CEM) Flextronics gained
another 3.13% today due to its reiterating financial
targets for the next 2 quarters.

Airline
shares gave back some of their recent gains recently.

SRI/Surgical
Express lost 41.43% after restating lower earnings
and announcing that it lost customers, as opposed
to its previous announcement that it gained customers.

Enron
lost 85.16% to close at a market capitalization
of $453.8 million, yes millions, after Dynegy withdrew
its $9 billion offer. Dynegy lost 12.03%. Other
energy shares were pulled down too. The Enron debacle
will end up being one of the top case studies on
how not to run a company.

lost 5.05% despite a Standard & Poor announcement
that, Nvidia is to replace Enron on its venerated

Therapeutics gained a whopping 220% after the FDA
gave its rare blood illnesses treatment drug "orphan"
status. Orphan status means the fastest tract to
market as possible.

Baxter
International gained 1.29% after its joint venture
with the UK firm, Acambis Plc, won a Department
of Health and Human Services $428 million contract
to supply 155 million doses of Smallpox vaccine.

Dell
lost 1.85% after its CEO Michael Dell reiterated
that the company's fiscal Q4 earnings will be similar
to its Q3, and that revenue will rise slightly above
fiscal Q3 revenue of $7.5 billion.

Gateway
gained 11.18% after Lehman Brothers and Prudential
had good comments about the increased traffic to
its Gateway Stores.
-
Paxar
gained 6.10% after announcing that it will increase
its stock buyback by $50 million to $150 million.
Paxar also bought back 3 million shares from an
investor today.

that, it will cut its oil production by only 50,000

Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported that for
week ending November 16th, US crude oil inventory

Petroleum Institute (API) saw an increase of 357,000

of 200,000 barrels and 669,000 barrels respectively.

The
Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that
for week ending November 16th, its MBA Mortgage
Applications Survey rose 6.6% to 985.8. The Purchase
Index rose 3.7% to 296.0, while the Refinance Index
declined 9.7% to 4998.3.

US
Semiconductor Shipments declined to $916.2 million
in October, while Bookings rose $31.9 million to
$651.1 million, thus pushing the Book-to-Bill Ratio

a market capitalization of a mere $3.73 billion!

shares gained today due to the strong earnings outlook
from Amgen yesterday.

Guidant
gained 7.43% and helped rival Implantable Cardioverter
Defibrillators (ICD) companies like Metronic and
St. Jude Medical to close higher after a Guidant-sponsored
trial shows there are more people out there needing
ICDs than was previously estimated. Bear Stearns
and Goldman Sachs upgraded Guidant, and St. Jude
Medical was also upgraded by Bear Stearns.

Microsoft
closed lower despite reporting that, its Xbox™
game console is flying off the shelves.

AFTER
CLOSE: Software Spectrum reported fiscal Q2 earnings
of 44 cents a share, while revenue rose 45% to $356
million, as product services revenue alone rose
47%. Last year, Software Spectrum had a fiscal Q2
loss.

AFTER
CLOSE: TRW reported that it won a $1.3 billion communications
payload for the Department of Defense's Advanced
Extreme High Frequency System.

CLOSE: Meade Instruments warned that its fiscal
Q3 earnings and revenue will miss Wall Street estimates.
Meade Instruments also lowered its fiscal 2002 outlook
too.

lost 1.71% after announcing that it has settled
most of the private anti-trust cases against it.
The settlement requires Microsoft to spend $1 billion
to provide software and PCs to the poorest schools
in the country, and pay for similar services at
other social services places. Interestingly, this
settlement will give Microsoft access to schools
at a rate only Apple computer enjoyed.

LoudCloud
gained 6.67% today due to its strong earnings report
yesterday.

Genomica
gained 21.60% on Exelixis' offer for it late yesterday.

Espeed
gained 18.25% after announcing that it will turn
a profit in Q4 despite its devastation from the
September 11th. terrorist attacks. The online bond
trader, which is majority owned by Cantor Fitzgerald,
lost 180 of its 480 staff from the attacks, while
parent Cantor Fitzgerald lost about 73% of its staff.

Caribbean Cruise gained 7.26% after announcing that
it is merging into a $6 billion behemoth with P&O
Princess Cruise. The new venture will have Royal
Caribbean controlling 49.30% of the company, while
P&O Princess will control the rest. P&O
Princess gained 15.75%.

lost 0.36% despite receiving regulator's approval
for its NBC Television network to acquire Spanish
television network, Telemundo, for $2.7 billion.

CLOSE: Analog Devices is still losing in after hours
trading after reporting fiscal Q4 earnings of 14
cents a share, 2 cents a share better than First
Call estimates, while revenue declined 47% to $423.3
million. The company is expecting fiscal Q4 earnings
of 11 cents a share, on revenue of $400 million,
a 5% decline.

CLOSE: Amgen is gaining in after hours trading after
reporting that it expects its 2002 earnings per
share to come in the lower ¢20s, which is better
than what Wall Street was expecting.

CLOSE: TiVo reported fiscal Q2 losses that declined
more than 50% to $34.5 million, while revenue rose
from $1.1 million to a whopping $5.3 million over
the year. TiVo added 51,000 new customers in fiscal
Q2 alone, and that puts its total subscribers at
280,000 as of October 31st.
